HARARE, Zimbabwe - The Public Policy & Research Institute of Zimbabwe (PPRIZ) is set to host a pivotal discussion on the politics surrounding China-financed buildings in Africa, including parliaments and presidential palaces, writes Winston Mwale.
The virtual event, part of the China in Africa Research Program Series 2, is scheduled for January 25, 2024.
The panel comprises esteemed professionals from various African countries. Dr. Jolly Kamwanga, former Director at the Institute of Economic and Social Research in Zambia; Ms. Nomagugu Mutandi, the renowned convener; Prof. Tapuwa Mashakada, former Minister of Economic Planning in Zimbabwe; Dr. Wayne Malinga of PPRIZ; Prof Lucy Aning; David Muinga from Makerere Institute of Social Research Uganda and Mrs Permanent Ngoma as the facilitator.
The session promises to delve deep into the implications and political nuances associated with China’s increasing architectural footprint on the African continent.
