Chipeta previously held various roles at ActionAid Malawi, including head of business development, grants management and communication as well as interim head of programs and program specialist for accountability and public services before departing for further studies in 2022.
"She brings over 14 years of experience working in international development, with extensive experience working on gender responsive public services, economic justice, women's rights, child rights and protection, public policy analysis and fundraising," the board said in a statement Monday.

The board expressed gratitude for support during the leadership transition period and said it is confident engagement will be further strengthened under Chipeta's leadership "for the benefit of people living in poverty."
