In a country where football trophies have gathered dust for decades, both coaches are determined to change the narrative and add a prestigious trophy to their cabinets.

Support's head coach, Temwa Msukwa, expressed the importance of the upcoming clash against their military counterparts, stating, "We have to win against Airborne. We are targeting nothing but a victory, though we know it's not going to be easy, as we'll be playing against a talented side. But we are ready for the challenge. This game is crucial to us, just like any other."
Kondwani Gawani, head coach of Airborne, acknowledged the toughness of the game but remained confident, saying, "We understand the importance of the match, and we are determined to deliver an outstanding performance. Although we are up against a formidable opponent, we look forward to the game."
Nyasa Capital Finance director Ronald Chiwaula expressed optimism about this year's competition, emphasizing the importance of a violence-free tournament.
He stated, "As a financial institution, we do not want to be associated with hooliganism, as it often results in tragic outcomes. We are committed to ensuring a peaceful and safe environment."
Antonio Manda, Vice General Secretary of the Central Region Football Association, extended gratitude to Nyasa Capital Finance for their unwavering support in enhancing the country's football standards. He commended the company for its resilience and commitment to football development.
Renowned football analyst Willy Chabwinja urged other corporate entities to follow Nyasa Capital Finance's lead and invest in football activities.
Speaking about the clash between Support and Airborne, Chabwinja noted that winning the opener would help solidify the coaches' reputations and skills, particularly given their wealth of top-level experience in football.
In a soldier-versus-soldier encounter, Chabwinja acknowledged the unique challenges but predicted that the best team would ultimately triumph at Fikiza ground.
The 2023 Nyasa Capital Finance Cup promises to be an exciting season, with the competition's package increased from K65 million to MK70 million as it enters its final season.
