Mzuzu University students motivate Lupaso CDSS Form 4 students ahead of MSCE exams.
MZUZU, Malawi — In preparation for their upcoming Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) Examinations on June 27, Form 4 students of Lupaso Community Day Secondary Schools (CDSS) in Mzuzu received motivation from students of Mzuzu University, writes Flates Banda.
The visit aimed to inspire and encourage Lupaso CDSS students ahead of their final exams this year.
Thokozani Chiwayula, the Malawi Congress Party Youth Wing President of Mzuzu University, delivered a motivational speech on Friday afternoon, stressing the significance of positive role models for students in boarding and community day secondary schools.
"We came to encourage them, especially students in CDSS like Lupaso, who may think they cannot manage to be enrolled in public universities like Mzuni," said Chiwayula.
Chiwayula emphasised that the goal was to motivate and demonstrate that youth from various political parties, including the MCP Youth Wing, can have positive impacts on the community.
"We want to show that youth in political parties are capable of showing positive impacts to the community and not negative impacts," Chiwayula added.
The Head Teacher of Lupaso CDSS, Mrs Wezzie Banda, expressed gratitude for the motivational speeches, particularly for the Form 4 students who are about to sit for their MSCE examinations.
Banda stated that the sessions provided valuable insights on academic preparation and overcoming challenges, which she believed would help the students perform well in their exams.
"We feel like my students have gained insights on how they can overcome challenges that have to do with academics so that they can prepare well for their coming exams," said Banda.
Banda also mentioned that the students and staff of Lupaso CDSS were appreciative of the motivational speeches, as they aimed to address any feelings of inferiority among students aspiring to pursue tertiary education in public universities.
In addition to academic guidance, the Mzuzu University MCP Youth Wing also offered advice on education and health issues, particularly the prevention of HIV/AIDS.
They emphasised the importance of practising safe sex to achieve the students' future goals.
The visit by Mzuzu University students served as a source of motivation and inspiration for Lupaso CDSS students as they approached their final exams.
